I Will Play

IF I HONOR THIS LIST I WILL PLAY

Every day that I step on the field I will:
1. Be the first one on the field and the last one off the field.

2. Know all my assignments- Not knowing what I’m doing hurts me AND my
TEAMMATES.

3. Be coachable- I should never have to be told something twice

4. Play every play like it’s my last play- because I never know when it will be.

5. Never forget that being here is an honor only a small percentage of people get the chance
to experience. I need to RESPECT that fact.

6. Show up on film every, single play. The camera follows the football. Be where the
football is whether I’m holding it or not.

7. Know that ONLY the FUNDAMENTALS will make me a great player.

8. Understand that what I do off the field affects me just as much as what I do on it. My
education and my reputation off the field are equally as important to maintain.

9. Worry only about perfecting MY assignment every single play regardless of what that is.
I do have an assignment on every single play and my assignment is 1 of 11 that need to be
perfected so that the play will work.

10. Smile and have fun, it’s a game! I can’t possibly do one through nine unless I’m having
fun doing it. I have to love what I do to be the best at it.

If you read this list before every time you step on the practice or game field then I will be with you. If you do every single thing on this list during practice or a game then I
will be with you. If you correctly perform everything I’ve taught you then I will be doing it with you. If I’m with you, you will succeed. If you do what I’ve done then you will succeed, because I succeeded. In other words, if you follow in the footsteps of success then you too will succeed!
